Welcome to the Trenton Walk of Stars!

Inspired by the iconic Walk of Fame in Hollywood, California, the Trenton Walk of Stars will recognize and celebrate the contributions of impactful individuals, groups, and organizations on the City of Trenton.

You can nominate your favorite individual, group, or organization to be recognized for their impact by submitting the application online! Deadline February 29, 2024.

  • The deadline for nomination for the inaugural Trenton Walk of Stars in 2024 is February 29 at 5 p.m.

    All nominations will be considered by the Trenton Walk of Stars (TWOS) Committee at a meeting to be held in May 2024. Nominations are accepted online only.

    The Trenton Walk of Stars includes the following categories

    1) Impact on the City of Trenton
    2) Political Contribution to City of Trenton
    3) Nonprofits or Philanthropic Individuals or Organizations
    4) Live Theatre/Performance
    5) Sports/Entertainment
    6) Civic Engagement
    7) Education
    8) Religious Organization

    All Nominations must include these documents:

    ∎ Photo of the nominee (jpg/png file)
    ∎ Brief bio of nominee – no more than 2 pages (paste your text into the form, or upload a doc/pdf file)
    ∎ Nominee’s qualifications (paste your text into the form, or upload a doc/pdf file)
    ∎ List of contributions to the community and civic-oriented participation of the nominee (paste your text into the form, or upload a doc/pdf file)
    ∎ Letter of agreement from the nominee or his/her management that they will accept the honor of being part of the Trenton Walk of Fame. (upload a doc/pdf file)

    Each year, the committee will select 5 names for insertion into the Walk. Nomination of an individual or group must be approved by the TWOS Committee, sometimes requiring several annual nominations before a nominee is selected to receive a star.

    The most qualified candidates nominated are eligible for a star to be installed in the Trenton Walk of Stars during the year. Those not selected for the current year are requested to resubmit for the following nomination period. Should the sponsor not want to make a second nomination attempt, they must notify the Committee immediately, and the application will be pulled.

    The criterion for receiving a star consists of the following: professional achievement, longevity in the category of five years or more, contributions to the Trenton community, and the guarantee that the individual will attend the dedication ceremony if selected. Posthumous awards require a five-year waiting period.

    After the TWOS Committee has made its selections, the Committee will vote to approve the individual / organization to be a recipient of a star.

    All honorees must be approved by the Committee, the decisions of which are final and entirely within the Committee’s discretion. Nomination and selection procedures, forms, and qualifications are guidelines only, entirely within discretion, and are subject to change at any time, without notice.

    Special Rules for Performing Duos and Groups

    Management of performing duos or groups must first consent in writing to the nomination before it will be considered by the Committee. In addition, the names of all group members, past and present, must be included on the nomination form. The Committee reserves the right to condition the award and installation of any star honoring a duo or group on its discretionary satisfaction with the sponsor’s arrangements regarding honorees and the installation ceremony.

    Sponsor Insurance

    The sponsor must provide proof of insurance naming their organization as additionally insured.

    2024 Deadline

    All nomination forms must be submitted by February 29, 2024 at 5 p.m. to be considered at the 2024 Spring Selection Meeting.

    Q: How can I nominate someone for the Trenton Walk of Stars?

    Q: Who can do the nominating?

    A: Anyone can nominate an individual or organization as long as the individual or organization is in agreement with the nomination. If there is no letter of agreement included in the application submission, the Trenton Walk of Stars Committee will not accept the nomination.

    Q: What is the cost of a Trenton Walk of Stars ceremony?

    A: No financial contribution is required, but if the individual or organization would like to make a donation to promote programming and scholarships promoting higher education as the normal next step for the citizens of Trenton. The donation will be used to help citizens from the City of Trenton to further their education and pursuit of lifelong learning.

    Q: Can someone who is deceased be nominated?

    A: Yes. One posthumous award may be given each year.

    Q: Can someone who is deceased be nominated for a star immediately?

    A: No. A posthumous nomination has a five-year waiting period from the date of the individual’s death.

    Q: Can I nominate someone who doesn’t fit in any of the eight categories?

    A: No. The categories do not change, and the nominee must be or have been active in the categories listed.

    Q: How long after someone has been nominated will the ceremony take place?

    A: The recipient has up to five years to schedule their ceremony. If it is not done within the five-year period, the award will expire, and a new application must be submitted.

    Q: Does the Committee accept signatures, petitions, or phone calls?

    A: No. The committee does not accept signatures, phone calls, e-mails, or any form of petitions for a nomination. Only official Trenton Walk of Stars applications are accepted via the online application at www.turningpointdiscoverycenter.com/trenton-walk-of-stars.

    Q: Who are the members of the Trenton Walk of Stars Committee?

    A: Each of the eight nomination categories is represented by someone with expertise in that field and are leaders of the City of Trenton or the surrounding region who are committed to helping Trenton become a thriving community.     Q: How often are stars voted in?

    A: Stars are voted in once per year in the Spring. Five stars are selected per year.

    Q: If a nominee isn’t selected during the voting process, do I have to re-submit the application for the following year?

    A: Yes. The application is only effective for one year. Those not selected for the current year are requested to resubmit for the following nomination period.     Q: When does the Committee meet?

    A: The Committee meets once a year in the Spring.

    Q: Can I attend a Trenton Walk of Stars ceremony?
